Guilherme Perboyre Cavalcanti became Vale’s executive director for finance and investor relations in July 2010. He joined the company in 2005 as global director for corporate finance, in which role he was responsible for fundraising operations, financial risk management and analysis, and implementation of mergers, acquisitions and partnerships.
Before that, between 1997 and 2005, Cavalcanti worked for the Organizações Globo group of companies in various positions, including head of the treasury and management control departments of the holding company Globopar between 2002 and 2005, and head of planning of its media group between 2000 and 2002. He was responsible for investor relations between 1998 and 2000.
Before joining Organizações Globo, Cavalcanti worked for Pactual Bank (now BTG Pactual) and Banif Primus Bank.
