TK, Barclays Clients are looking for firms that give them comfort, so if they feel they are with a safe organization then they are staying put or they are moving the bulk of their money to one. We’ve been beneficiaries of this move.
JF, Citi They want to know they are with a firm that is in good shape. The US banks got themselves in better shape earlier on so are benefiting from that.
PdI, JPMorgan I don’t see clients spreading their wealth around numerous firms today, but rather focusing on one or two firms that can provide those capabilities and where they’re comfortable knowing their assets are safe.
HM, Credit Suisse High-net-worth investors have generally had relationships with multiple private banks and we do not see that changing. However, we notice that clients are far keener to inquire into the financial strength of institutions they use to manage their assets. They also want to understand how financial regulation will shape the future of the firms they are doing business with. The private banks with a global footprint will have a far greater ability to adapt and operate in this new environment and provide the global investment thought leadership.
