Brazil private banking debate: Brazil’s private banks adapt to a changing economy

Rogério Pessoa Cavalcanti de Albuquerque (RP) is statutory director and co-head of wealth management at BTG Pactual and is based in Rio de Janeiro. He joined Pactual in 1998 and became a partner in 2004. He has been either head or co-head of wealth management since 2004.

Guilherme Pini (GP) is co-head of the investment advisory of wealth management at BTG Pactual and is based in São Paulo. Pini joined Pactual in 1997 and became a partner in 2004. He was responsible for products and services within wealth management. In 2006, Pini was appointed head of transaction products at UBS Bahamas Limited.

Marco Abrahão (MA) is head of Credit Suisse Hedging-Griffo Private Banking and a member of the board of directors of Credit Suisse Brazil and Credit Suisse Hedging-Griffo. He joined Hedging-Griffo in 1995 and became a partner in 1999. He has been the head of CSHG Private Banking since 2009.

Carolina Falzoni (CF) is chief investment officer of Credit Suisse Hedging-Griffo Private Banking. She has worked at Hedging-Griffo for five years as a partner in the asset management division, focused on international markets. In 2009, she became chief strategist of CSHG Private Banking and in 2011 the CIO.

Paulo Meirelles (PM) joined Itaú Unibanco in 2002 and is director of Itaú Unibanco Private Banking, where he is responsible for its credit, wealth management and trade and advisory areas.

Flavio Souza (FS) is global head of Itaú Private Bank. He was previously president and CEO of Banco Itaú Europa International in Miami and head of private banking for Hispanic markets.

João Albino Winkelmann (JAW) is the head director of Bradesco Private Bank. He has 30 years’ banking experience and has run the private bank since 2005. He set up Bradesco’s Grand Cayman operations in 1992 and in 1998 became general manager of Bradesco’s New York branch.

Edinardo Figueiredo (EF) is managing director and, since 2012, CEO of UBS Wealth Management Brasil and a member of the bank’s executive committee. He graduated in business administration from FAAP University in São Paulo and has a global executive MBA from IESE in Barcelona.

Paulo Corchaki (PC) is managing director and head of investments at UBS Wealth Management Brasil. He has 21 years’ experience in financial markets working with asset management and private banking, and he has been a board member of Amec and a board member of Anbima for four years.
