Chinatrust is Taiwan’s best bank, with a domestic branch network of 111 outlets and the most extensive international network of any bank in Taiwan, with 66 overseas offices and branches and more than 7,500 employees. The bank boasts a correspondent banking network of some 850 banks in more than 100 countries.
Chinatrust is a universal bank that operates two principal divisions: consumer banking, responsible for retail banking, credit card services and wealth management; and corporate banking, which includes investment banking, capital markets and commercial banking. Corporate banking accounts for almost 40% of revenues, and retail banking, including wealth management and consumer banking, accounts for 30% of revenues. Credit card services alone account for 31% of revenues. Chinatrust is a market leader in Taiwan’s small but rapidly growing wealth management sector and was the first local bank to be awarded a licence to provide wealth management services by the Financial Supervisory Commission, Taiwan’s securities regulator.
