BNP Paribas hires new global head of institutional sales

BNP Paribas, the 11th-largest FX bank according to Euromoney data, has hired a new global head of institutional sales, say two people familiar with the appointment.

Adrian Boehler, the former head of EMEA FX and commercial sales at HSBC, will join the bank next month, the sources tell EuromoneyFXNews. He left HSBC in June for personal reasons after seven years with the firm. Boehler is a highly regarded FX salesman, who, according to former colleagues, has the ability to successfully build a team around him and engender strong loyalty.

BNP has consistently been ranked 12th with real money investors in the Euromoney FX survey over the past three years, registering a market share of between 3.61% and 2.97%. It strongest market position has been in the non-financial corporate sector where it is ranked 5th, with a market share of 6%.

BNP declined to comment.
