Citi and HSBC have shuffled their emerging Europe debt capital markets packs, with two familiar names taking on expanded roles.
At Citi William Weaver is the new head of debt capital markets for emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa, taking over from Ahmet Bekce, who moved earlier in the year to become Citi’s head of banking for the Middle East. Weaver, who has been a long-standing member of Citi’s emerging markets business, reports to Paul Young, head of debt capital markets.
In addition, Citi has announced that Richard Basham and Ashu Khullar will co-head the loans business for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Both of them will work closely with Weaver.
At HSBC, Ulrik Ross has assumed responsibility for central and eastern Europe, including the CIS debt origination business. This is in addition to his existing role as European head of public sector debt capital markets. Ross reports to Andrew Dell, head of debt capital markets for emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Roger Thomson, head of European debt capital markets.
