FX people moves: New Brazilians for Standard Chartered

Since launching their new trading operations in Brazil in April, Standard Chartered has added a new rates and FX team.


Renato Fonzar joins as head of rates and FX Brazil. He previously worked at Itaú BBA in Sao Paulo as a senior FX trader. He will be based in Sao Paulo and will report to both Peter Hirsch and Todd McDonald, heads of rates and FX trading for the Americas.


Eduardo Hargreaves joins the team as head trader for offshore Brazil FX. He joined Standard Chartered in 2008 via its purchase of American Express Bank. He will be based in New York and will report to Fonzar.


Luciano Jimenez will be the new head trader for Brazil rates, who joined last month from BNP Paribas. He will be based in Sao Paulo.


Luiz Lu is the new trader responsible for onshore Brazil FX. Lu joined in November 2008 via the purchase of Lehman Brothers’ operations in Brazil. He will be based in Sao Paulo.
