Heartwood has £1.2 billion ($1.9 billion) in client assets and has been running for 20 years. It invests high-net-worth client money (usually clients with from £500,000 to £20 million invested with Heartwood) on a purely discretionary basis, segmenting clients into six different investment strategies based on their risk profile.
Chief executive Simon Lough says: "You cannot honestly manage 1,000 clients in 1,000 different ways and when we researched risk profiles we discovered that most clients can be captured in five or six different investment approaches."
