Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence 2011: When Deutsche and BarCap picked up the big prizes

In London July 7, 500 of the world’s top bankers gathered at the Brewery for Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence 2011 dinner. The big prizes on the evening went to Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital and Roberto Setúbal of Itaú Unibanco.

But the biggest winners on the night were the children of Little Rock School in Kenya. Thanks to the generosity of those present, its founder Lily Oyare — who gave a moving speech at the Dinner — will be able to build new school facilities for the children in one of the Africa’s largest slums.

Charity tombstone

Euromoney would like to thank all of the institutions and individuals who gave so generously to Little Rock School through our charity tombstone on the occasion of our Awards for Excellence dinner in London.

The sum raised will go towards the provision of new school facilities for up to 800 children on an inclusive basis where disabled, deaf and able-bodied children are taught together in one of the poorest parts of Africa, as well as to contribute to running costs for a number of years.

Everyone at Euromoney is extremely humbled by and proud of the support that this hugely deserving project has received from our friends in the financial markets.
