Best Middle East research house survey 2011: Methodology

Euromoney’s annual Middle East survey is conducted between May and June. The survey is split into two sections:

Middle East research

The survey is sent to investors and end-users of Middle East research products to nominate their best providers.

In detail

Respondents were asked to nominate their top three research providers in order of quality by research sector. Research providers received four points for a first placed nomination, three points for a second place nomination and two points for a third place nomination. These points were then totalled to give an overall score.

We received 529 votes this year (up from 332 last year).

The principle reasons for exclusion of votes were:

• Yahoo/AOL-type email addresses given; • people voting for just one person or one firm on the ballot; • insufficient voter contact details; and • voting for one’s own firm as best in all categories.

All queries should be directed to Tim Moxon, head of research.
