Charles J Gavsie, who is due to take up his role on March 31, will have responsibility for BMO’s global foreign exchange sales and trading activity, which has a headcount of nearly 100 and is based in eight cities in Canada, the US, the UK and China. Gavsie will report to Pat Cronin, global head of trading products at BMO.
“Foreign exchange is an area that requires excellence in client service, backed up by very strong technology capability and trading expertise,” says Cronin.
“CJ’s mandate is to harness all of these and expand our footprint as the number-one platform for the Canadian dollar globally.”
BMO ranked 36th in last year’s Euromoney FX Poll, with a market share of 0.17%.
