RBS’s head of North American FX sales leaves bank

The head of FX sales for North America at Royal Bank of Scotland has resigned from his role at the bank, a spokesperson confirms.

Craig Donaldson was a managing director at RBS in the global banking and markets division, and was based in Stamford, Connecticut. He joined the bank in 2005 from Merrill Lynch. He was a well-known figure within the hedge fund and CTA community. Donaldson began his career in 1989 as a vice-president at Bankers Trust (BT) in New Zealand, before joining Deutsche Bank in 1999 after the German bank acquired BT.

After a brief stint in Sydney, he transferred to New York, before joining Merrill Lynch in 2004.

It is believed he has retired from the market and returned to his native New Zealand.
