Natixis hires hedge fund FX salesman

Natixis has hired a former UniCredit FX salesman to cover sales to hedge funds and other financial institutions.

Darren Barker will report to James Lamb, head of FX sales at Natixis in London. Barker has more than 20 years’ experience in FX trading and sales, having worked at JPMorgan, Bank of America, UBS, Citi and Deutsche Bank, as well as at the Italian bank UniCredit.

Lamb says he is pleased to have secured Barker’s services: “He brings with him a wealth of experience and quality that will be invaluable in our efforts to target financial institutions.”

Natixis came 32nd overall in this year’s Euromoney FX Poll, with a market share of 0.24%. However, the French bank ranked just 39th with hedge funds, with a market share of 0.03%.
