Sky-high in Seoul

It is always with a dubious sense of national pride that you announce your capital city has the most expensive rents in the world. According to a recent survey by international estate agents Knight Frank & Rutley, Seoul now holds the honour.

The survey, based on prices in September, measured office rents in 48 cities and found the South Korean capital came top with floor space priced at $116 per square metre. Hong Kong came second at $99 and London third at $88. Tokyo, which was top in 1995, slipped to ninth. No American city made the top 10. Steven Irvine
