Deutsche Bank has offered a platform in this area since 2000, whereas most competitors are rather fresh to the online market. The latest version has been available for the past year and with 35 currencies available has the broadest range of all the platforms viewed.
The same site is used by Deutsche Bank's own sales and trading desk and its clients, such as fund managers, insurance groups, brokers and corporates. There are around 4,500 accounts and the bank claims that about 40% of its internal business in London is executed online. This figure has tripled since January and is the highest of all the sites demonstrated in this category.
AutobahnMM has a term-trade screen that can be set up within the legal entity to show different currencies and to adjust the settlement period. The screen offers indicative prices and the user can respond to, and negotiate, deals with the bank's trading desk. The platform offers 24-hour trading.
A trade browser on the site enables the client to view the status of all trades. The history of all trades remains on the site for 14 days after maturity. After that the bank can be contacted for historical details.
