Internet awards 2003: Back office takes control
Euromoney first contacted the participants in these fourth annual technology awards in July 2003. They included all those firms that had been considered for the awards in the past, plus any that had expressed an interest over the course of the year.
The categories were selected based on consultation with the participants. The firms then nominated themselves in the categories where they felt they had a reasonable chance of performing well. During September, a team of Euromoney journalists and editors visited the participating firms to view demonstrations of their sites. As a minimum, our judges were looking for live, reliable platforms that served a useful purpose for clients and that created efficiency for banks. The winners were chosen for showing that they had the most advanced functionality of any of their peers. Where selections were especially difficult, one or more rival platforms were recognized as highly commended.
The trading connectivity awards were chosen based on the full range of trading technology that the banks offered. Broad awards such as "Best bank for electronic fixed income" were based on banks’ performance across the full range of relevant categories.
