Two US companies are looking for a new CFO after the present incumbents resigned to pursue other career opportunities. Orchid Biosciences, the US supplier of DNA testing services, is seeking a new CFO after the resignation of Michael Spicer who is joining another biopharmaceutical company.
Spicer joined the company in December 2001 when it acquired Lifecodes Corporation and has served as CFO since July 2003. Joseph Warusz, who has been promoted to vice president of financial planning and analysis, will oversee the company's financial planning while a replacement is found.
Another company on the look out for a new CFO is Active Power, the US manufacturer of battery-free products, after David Gino announced he was leaving to pursue an opportunity in the area of nano-lithography.
CEO Joseph Pinkerton says of Gino: ?He was instrumental in the completion of our successful IPO, reigning in costs and instilling the company with operational discipline.?
