Bank of America wins the North America regional award for best cash management bank for the second year in a row. BofA’s franchise, which is as close to a US national banking franchise as it gets, is mirrored in its cash management business, which according to one leading financial markets research firm has the leading market penetration, at 73%, of US large corporates.
It continues to perform well according to other measures, such as the Ernst & Young US treasury management survey, according to which the business is top in market share for cheque clearing, wholesale lockbox, account reconciliation and sweeps.
Best at investor services this year is State Street. It is always a close race between State Street and JPMorgan Investor Services, but this year the Boston bank just edges ahead. It continues to win new business, such as the contract to provide fund accounting and administration services for Calamos’s new $2 billion total strategic return fund.
State Street has put an emphasis on its hedge fund business in the past couple of years, for both the funds and those who provide them with service.
