Citigroup Private Bank has signed up golf legend Gary Player to act as an informal ambassador. As part of the multi-year endorsement, Player will represent the bank on his travels playing championship golf, and will "help to strengthen the firm's long-term relationships with some of the world's most successful families".
Player, now 69, has clocked up over 160 professional tournament wins, and is one of only five men to have won the golf grand slam (all four major championships). He is also the most travelled player in golf, boasting 13 million air miles.
He is extremely happy about his newfound partner. "It is an honour for me to represent Citigroup Private Bank," he says. "Their global reach parallels nicely with my philosophy in golf ? taking it to every corner of the world. It truly is a first-class global organization and I am privileged to be associated with such wonderful people and a world-class brand."
Player has agreed to stop wearing all black ? a habit that earned him the nickname The Black Knight.
