SG Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) has appointed Ajaz Jafri as head of Foreign Exchange for Europe and Asia-Pacific. He will be responsible for spot trading and institutional and corporate sales in Paris, London, Zurich, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney.
Ajaz was previously deputy head of Global Foreign Exchange Institutional Sales, based in New York. He will relocate within the 1st quarter 2005 to London, but will also spend equal time in Paris, coordinating the trading and sales teams.
Ajaz will report directly to Dominick Errichetti, who was recently appointed global head of Foreign Exchange and Options, based in New York.
Other recent appointments by SGCIB in its FX group include: in London, Steven Henderson and Julian Smith from RBS and Cheryl Galante from UBS. Nigel Russel has joined from NAB and Lorraine Roberts from CBA, both in Sydney.
