Two very different companies, Time Warner Telecom and The Singing Machine Company, have both this week made internal CFO appointments, promoting members of the finance team who have made significant contributions over recent months. Time Warner Telecom has appointed its treasurer and acting CFO Mark Peters as permanent CFO with immediate effect.
"Mark has developed a strong relationship with the investment community and has been instrumental in leading our treasury effort," said Larissa Herda, the company's chairman and CEO. "He has driven the successful execution of various debt and equity offerings as Time Warner Telecom's treasurer and, in prior years, has led our market expansion and asset acquisition efforts,"
Meanwhile, Danny Zheng, financial controller and principal accounting officer of The Singing Machine Company, the karaoke machine distributor, has been rewarded for his work in rebuilding the company's accounting and financial systems by being promoted to CFO.
Y.P. Chan, the company's interim CEO, said: "Working behind the scenes, he was instrumental in automating our financial reporting, establishing procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of our financial data, improving our internal controls and cost, royalty and inventory accounting systems, and ensuring the timely filing of all documents required by the SEC."
