Dow Chemical has announced that Geoffery Merszei will CFO, succeeding J. Pedro Reinhard later this year.
Reinhard, who joined Dow in 1970, will keep his current responsibilities until year-end at Dow AgroSciences and Dow Latin Americ.
Merszei, 53, is currently executive vice president and CFO of Alcan, the Canadian aluminum producer. Before Alcan, he worked at Dow Chemical until September 2001 as vice president and treasurer.
He will assume the post of executive vice president on July 1, and is scheduled to succeed Reinhard as CFO on October 1, Dow said.
Alcan has named Michael Hanley as its interim CFO following the return of current CFO Geoffery Merszei to the Dow Chemical Company.
Hanley, 39, currently executive vice-president of Alcan and president and chief executive of its Bauxite and Alumina business group, will take up the position in mid May.
