NMS Communications, the US mobile provider, has appointed D'Anne Hurd as its new CFO. Hurd was previously CFO of rival communications provider StarBak Communications. Also in the U.S., Michael Robinson, CFO of US Lec, the internet technology company based in Charlotte, is moving to New York to become CEO of Broadview Network Holdings, the communications provider. He will leave US Lec on March 4.
In the UK, technology company ZBD Displays has appointed John Dernie as its new CFO. Dernie was previously CFO of SurfKitchen, an early stage software development company, where he raised £20 million ($37.7 million) over two years. Prior to that, he was European finance director of Sony Music Entertainment.
ZBD Displays, which is venture capital funded, was set up in July 2000 by five scientists and engineers with expertise in developing LCD technology. It was the first spin off from the UK's Defence Evaluation and Research Agency.
