Computer Associates International has named Robert Davis as its new CFO after a nine-month search.
Davis, who succeeds Jeff Clarke, was most recently Dell's vice president of corporate finance and chief accounting officer.
Clarke, a former Hewlett-Packard executive, was hired initially as CFO and promoted to be COO . He replaced Ira Zar, who pleaded guilty to criminal charges stemming from a $2.2 billion accounting scandal. Clarke will remain in the position of COO.
Davis, who has spent eight years at Dell, was named vice president for corporate finance in 2001. He assumed the role of chief accounting officer in 2002, overseeing a 400-person finance staff. Prior to joining Dell, Davis was assistant corporate controller at MCI.
