Deutsche Bank has promoted Derek Capanna from regional head of institutional equity sales for the US Central and West coast regions, to head of Americas' cash equity sales. Deutsche also announced that it was bringing its Americas' cash equity sales business into its Institutional Client Group.
Equity derivative specialists are clearly in demand on both sides of the Atlantic. Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein announced four senior appointments in London while BNP Paribas added six to its team in New York.
Patrick Sciamma, joins DrKW from Goldman Sachs as head of exotic equity derivatives trading; Olivier Charhon joins from Ixis Corporate and Investment Bank, Paris, as head of index exotics trading; and Tayeb Amegroud joins from Lehman Brothers as head of equity derivative structuring. Sebastien Bossu, joins DrKW from JPMorgan as a vice president in equity derivative structuring.
BNP Paribas poached five former prop traders from Nomura for its equity and derivatives Quest (quantitative electronic strategic trading) business. Tim Egan and Alidad Mireskandari, join as managing directors, while Glen Waldorf, Keith Lillis and Robert McHugh join as vice presidents. David Nikodem, who joins from Blumberg Capital Management, also joins as a vice president.
