Ibarra suspended and to face trial because of Cromañon

El Cronista Pro-Kirchner deputy Juan Chango Farías Gomez put the party’s discipline aside and became the 30th vote to take Mayor of Buenos Aires Aníbal Ibarra to trial. The official was immediately suspended in his functions. Vice Mayor Jorge Telerman will be in charge of the Executive Power in Buenos Aires now.

The Constitution of the City says the judging commission has four months to define Ibarra’s situation. In case no decision is made, the Mayor will be considered acquitted and can’t be taken to a court because of the same facts in the future. However, the judging commission is to be renewed on December 10, which creates a legal hollow. Ibarra said he was not going to resign.
