Dave Tait has not only had a long and successful career in the FX market, but he has also climbed some notable peaks outside of the trading environment.
Tait, who has just joined hedge fund Peloton Partners after four years at Bluecrest, climbed Mount Everest last year, possibly making him a unique participant in the FX community. He reached the summit on June 4, raising £250,000 for UK children’s charity NSPCC in the process.
Tait has long had a penchant for dangerous sports. In his youth, he fancied himself as a kick boxer, but after one painful bout in Paris, he decided that FX was a safer and easier way of making money. “I’ve only recently got my nose and teeth sorted from the abuse they took in that ‘difficult’ era,” he laughs.
