This is the challenge that faces Bahrain’s Unicorn Investment Bank, which has been appointed to advise Teshkeel Media Group (TMG) – the exclusive translation partners of Marvel Entertainment, Archie Comics and DC Comics for the Middle East and north Africa – on a $25 million capital raising exercise.
One thing is clear, though – the bankers involved in the deal and their public relations advisers are keen fans of Spider-Man, Superman, Batman and friends. The press release about the bank’s appointment sent out to hacks was entitled “Unicorn to advise Superheroes at Teshkeel Media Group” and the TMG chief executive is quoted as saying: “This Ramadan the world has new superheroes.”
As Spider-Man himself is fond of saying: “With great power comes great responsibility.”
