It was off to the Forex Ball on May 5 as a guest of Eurex. In its heyday – sadly now a distant memory – the ball used to attract more than 1,700 guests. It seems that the age of electronic dealing has diminished the importance of networking – except of course when you are looking for a new job.
As the main entertainment, ACI-UK booked Andy Abrahams, a former dustbinman who did not quite win a TV series called The X Factor. Abrahams appears to have let his 15-minutes of fame go to his head and he flounced out without singing after his sound check. The gap was filled by Jimmy Quinn, a comic you will never have heard of, as he is distinctly unfunny.
