Christopher Casey, AIG: developing distribution strategies |
Casey moves to AIG from Forum Partners Investment Management, where he was executive director for capital markets activities. This included capital placement and investor relations for Forum’s Asian and European real estate funds. Before Forum, Casey had spells at Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank, Bear Stearns and Manufacturers Hanover Trust.
His new role at AIG will include responsibility for developing fund distribution strategies.
AIG Global Real Estate has some $18.4 billion under management (as of September 2007). Its property portfolio includes more than 53 million square feet of retail, residential, industrial, office and hospital properties. Kevin Fitzpatrick has been president of the business since its inception in 1987 and has a team of 500 reporting to him (see AIG builds on its Brics and mortar, Liquid Real Estate, Issue 04 2007).
Forum, established in 2002, is a global real estate investment manager specializing in providing growth and restructuring capital to real estate companies in Europe and Asia. It has more than $2 billion in equity under management and a staff of 50-plus, based in London, the US and Asia.
