Mexican bank Banorte is very much in expansion mode. "We have several needs for capital," explains CEO Luis Peña, ticking them off a list. First, and probably most important, is expanding into Mexico City, where the bank has historically been weak, with an aggressive programme of opening both ATMs and branches.
And there are lots of other things that require capital.
