SF market round up: Barclays loses Ford

Synapse Investment Management, which was founded in 2006 by Graeme Anderson and Mark Holman, has put itself firmly on the map with the recent hire of Rob Ford from Barclays Capital.

Ford – habitually described as a veteran of the market – had been at Barcap for 21 years and is one of the most high profile personalities in the European ABS market. Synapse aims to provide "intelligently packaged products that connect traditional asset management disciplines with hedge fund technology" and has also hired Ben Hayward and Eoin Walsh from Citi’s structured investment vehicle (SIV) team in order to achieve this.
