Armeconombank opened up new territory this year by becoming the first Armenian bank to consider an international equity offering. The bank is looking at an IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2008. The bank has been listed on the Armenian stock exchange since 2002 and it is the country’s leading stock by market capitalization and turnover. The bank has also moved rapidly to lead the local market for ATM provision, credit card issuance, mortgage lending and the introduction of good corporate governance policies.
