Infrastructure debate: The business of building



Chris Beale (CB) is the managing partner at Alinda Capital Partners LLC, an independent firm that manages the $3 billion Alinda Infrastructure Fund. The fund is an unlisted institutional fund that focuses on equity investments in operating infrastructure assets in the US and Europe. 

Luba Nikulina (LN) is a senior investment consultant in the New York office of Watson Wyatt. She focuses on private equity and infrastructure manager research. Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting advises some of the world’s largest pension funds and institutional investors, with total assets of about $2 trillion.

Cressida Hogg (CH) is senior partner, infrastructure, at 3i Investments. She started 3i’s infrastructure team in 2005. Recently she led 3i’s investments into AWG and I2, a secondary PFI investment fund. 3i Group is a leading European private equity and venture capital group, listed on the London Stock Exchange. 

Mark Weisdorf (MW) is managing director and CIO of JPMorgan Asset Management’s Infrastructure Investments group. He has more than 25 years of investment experience. Before joining JPMAM, he founded a strategic consulting practice working with institutional investors and investment managers focusing on real estate, private equity and infrastructure.

Dempsey Gable (DG) is a director of infrastructure investments at ABP Investments, located in New York. The infrastructure group at ABP has made investment commitments of approximately €3.5 billion to infrastructure funds and direct investments. Before working at ABP, he formed and managed the energy, utilities and project finance groups at Commerzbank North America for nine years.

Daniel Martin Haas (DMH) heads the project finance team of Caja Madrid. Caja Madrid ranked fifth in the global PPP rankings in 2006 and is the leading project finance institution in Spain.

Matthew Vickerstaff (MV) is global head of infrastructure and asset based finance at Société Générale. He has been involved in a number of PPP/PFI projects including transactions in the water, health, MoD and transportation sectors.

Paul Leatherdale (PL) is a managing director and member of the executive committee at Depfa Bank. He joined Depfa Group in 1999 to set up the infrastructure finance team in Dublin. Previously, he spent 15 years at Sumitomo Bank in London specializing in real estate, construction and international project finance.
