On January 30, the leading names in the Islamic finance industry gathered at the Royal Garden Hotel in London for Euromoney’s fifth annual Islamic Finance Awards dinner.
Over 200 people, representing institutions from more than a dozen countries attended the awards ceremony. Presentations were carried out by Padraic Fallon, Euromoney Institutional Investor plc’s chairman, and Simon Brady, managing director of Euromoney magazine.
Sheikh Nizam Yakuby was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the industry and HSBC Amanah collected the best international Islamic bank award.
The dinner was part of a two-day event, which was opened by Ed Balls, economic secretary to the UK Treasury, and saw Hans-Joerg Rudloff signing a memorandum of understanding on behalf of the International Capital Markets Association with Bahrain-based International Islamic Financial Market.
