On February 1 the leading lights in the global wealth management industry gathered at the historic Christchurch in London’s Spitalfields district to celebrate the winners in Euromoney’s fourth annual private banking survey.
Over 250 people, representing more than a dozen countries, attended the dinner. Entertainment was provided by John Sergeant, the political UK broadcast journalist. The awards were presented by Euromoney’s editor, Clive Horwood.
UBS was once again the big winner on the night, collecting the prize for best global private bank for the fourth successive year.
The guests also raised almost £3,000 towards the Kalinga Eye Hospital in India – Euromoney’s chosen charity for 2007, which provides surgery to restore eyesight to children in India’s impoverished Orissa region. At £19 per operation, over 150 children will now have the gift of sight thanks to the generosity of those at the private banking dinner.
A separate dinner for the Asian private banking industry will be held in Singapore on April 3 at the
Fullerton Hotel. For more details contact Marcus Langston at marcus.langston@euromoneyasia.com
