An entrepreneurial nature, an involvement in the fashion industry, an interest in charitable causes and a keen eye for art are recurring characteristics. Danielle Ganek, wife of Level Global’s David Ganek, for example, is the former Woman’s Day style editor. She met her husband at college, and last year the couple helped bring in $4 million for the Guggenheim Museum. Every five weeks the US hedge fund capital’s local lobster restaurant has an eight-minute dating night for professionals – many of whom are from hedge funds, says manager John Rooney.
