NYSE Euronext's new online screener for ETFs and ETNs on U.S. and European markets is gaining traction among issuers because of its simplified fund access and easier ETF monitoring. Issuers expect the platform to help them attract investors to their offerings.
Investors on NYSE Arca can search ETFs or ETNs by keyword or symbol, or by issuer and classification. The screener allows Euronext investors to search for warrants and certificates by profit and loss characteristics, organizing products by risk level.
While other screeners are based on a series of queries, NYSE's relies on a search box. "The screener will allow for investors to access a tool with ETFs that they didn't yet know were available, like micro-cap or infrastructure or clean energy funds. You can search for them by key words, classifications, and by issuer. This broader exposure could help facilitate an increase in trade volume," said Phil Bak, senior product developer for Rydex Investments.
