Icap has hired Cathy Lyall as its chief operating officer of exchange projects. The experienced and respected Lyall was previously managing director, EMEA, of the Chicago Board of Trade before its acquisition by the CME. She has also held a number of positions in the Australian trading and derivatives markets.
Lyall will report to Mark Yallop, Icap’s group chief operating officer, and will be responsible for global coordination of the company’s relationships with exchanges. She will also liaise with regulators and potential customers as well as overseeing business and technology development. She starts her new role on April 14.
“Cathryn Lyall brings substantial industry and exchange market experience to this role. She has extensive contacts in the markets and we are delighted to appoint someone of her calibre to expand our business in the exchange-traded markets,” says Yallop.
