BAKU, 24 JUNE, AZER PRESS. The retail deposits in banks and credit institutions around the country reached AZN 1.6 bn on 1 May 2008 being 65.8% up on the corresponding period of last year. The FX deposits had risen by 31.6% to AZN 840 mn, while the AZN deposits had risen by 2.3 times to AZN 753.7 mn. According to the State Statistics Committee, AZN 891.7 mn is deposited in the private banks. USD 1 was exchanged for AZN 0.83, RUR 100 for AZN 3.48 and EUR 1 for AZN 1.28 in May 2008.
