Downs and ups for Saxo

It’s been a strange week for Saxo.

It has not only had to cope with the resignation of my old mate Rob Gray, who has decided that the grass may be greener elsewhere, but with the fact that it failed to take the coveted yellow jersey in this year’s Tour de France by the narrowest of margins. As if you didn’t know it already, the bank is now sponsoring one of the best cycling teams in the world, and Team CSC-Saxo Bank is playing a very active part in the Tour. One of its riders, Frank Schleck, failed by just one second to take over the coveted yellow jersey after an arduous mountain stage, but a couple of days later, his team mate Kurt-Asle Arvesen took a stage victory. Saxo is already reaping the benefits in terms of press coverage. I’m happy to assist any other banks out there who are considering following Saxo’s lead by putting them in touch with some of my old cycling muckers.
