Tait heads for the highs – again

One would have thought that he’d been there, done it and got the T-shirt, but David Tait is off to try and climb Everest without oxygen again. Tait has a history of overcoming adversity – he had a go at kick-boxing in his youth, traded USD/DEM at the dead donkey – I mean Lloyds – back in the 1980s, before he sold his soul and moved to Goldman Sachs; more recently he was at Peloton Partners.

Tait has been up to the top twice before, but he had to give up his attempt to climb it without oxygen last year. He heads off to the Himalayas on March 29 for what he swears will be his fourth and final time. His attempt will be filmed by Discovery Channel/BBC and while the trip is entirely self-funded, Tait is also hoping to raise another chunk of money for charity.
