Mohammed Grimeh has just started at Standard Chartered Bank in the newly created role of head of trading and deputy head of global markets Americas, based in New York.
A memo to the bank’s financial markets staff says that Grimeh will be responsible for developing the bank’s trading business across all asset classes. He has also been charged specifically with pushing the establishment of the bank’s operations in Brazil.
Before joining StanChart, Grimeh was global head of emerging markets at Lehman Brothers. He has also worked at Société Générale and ING in both Europe and New York.
He will report to David Castle and Remy Klammers and join the bank’s financial markets Americas leadership team. Keith Underwood, StanChart’s FX trading head for Americas, and Javier Cosme, who runs LatAm FX, now report directly to Grimeh.
