"It can be very lonely at the top and we are all human, no matter how successful we become," says Tom Preston, who has written a self-help book, Coach yourself to success, for executives. The heart bleeds. "My job as coach is to build the confidence of a client, allow them to access at will the very best of themselves and to facilitate in them peak performance," says Preston, a former investment banker.
Merrill Lynch and Standard Chartered are apparently former customers of Preston’s self-help. We can only speculate on how much the executive couches used for these sessions cost.
Euromoney recommends the book as perfect beach reading for those whose banks no longer exist. Former Masters of the Universe will be happy to hear it was not any overdue belief in themselves that caused troubles in the corporate and banking world. Far from it: now they can look in the mirror and appreciate their true worth.
