When Euromoney asks Lisa Robins, global head of transaction banking at Standard Chartered, what her greatest achievements have been during a career spanning 38 years, she is reluctant to highlight any one thing.
She is keen not to take credit for something she has worked on as part of a team.
“Transaction banking is the part of the bank where any individual success is a direct result of what the team has achieved,” says Robins.
“I think that is one of the reasons that transaction banking attracts the type of person it does – people that thrive within a team environment.”
In that respect, Robins sees transaction banking teams in financial institutions as a microcosm of what is happening in cash management and trade finance globally.
