At Singaporean brokerage OCBC Securities, led by managing director Wilson He, there has been greater focus on digitalisation over the past few years – one reason it takes Asiamoney’s best securities house award in the city-state in 2023.
For instance, access to the OCBC Securities trading platform has been integrated with the OCBC bank’s internet and mobile banking platforms so that bank clients with an OCBC Securities account can trade and bank in one place – with access to their equities portfolio and wealth at the same time.
This has proved to be a draw, especially when combined with OCBC Securities’ broad footprint, providing access to 31 international exchanges, including online access to 15 of those.
OCBC Securities realises that being on top of the digital game is essential if it wants to stay relevant in Singapore’s brokerage industry, which is constantly being disrupted by new entrants. This pushes OCBC Securities to understand clients’ pain points and tailor solutions appropriate to their needs.
That’s why the iOCBC Mobile Trading app was redesigned after detailed customer lab sessions that shed light on clients’ behaviour and motivation.
