Last year record numbers of European telecom companies tapped the bond markets. Although France Telecom’s issue wasn’t the biggest – that prize goes to Deutsche Telekom’s $14 billion deal in July – it set new standards in terms of the size achievable in the Eurobond market. France Telecom did not include a dollar tranche, relying instead on the appetite of investors in Europe.
